This Privacy Policy explains how Jakub Ławicki, conducting business as Jakub Ławicki Consulting and operating under the name Reynvert (“Reynvert,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal data in connection with the video game Inearth (the “Game”).
1. Summary
The Game has no developer-operated advertising or gameplay analytics. We do not operate a player-account database and do not receive your name, email address, password, payment information, contacts, messages, or precise location through the Game.
The Steam version uses Steamworks to sign you in and provide achievements. This requires limited processing of a Steam account identifier, sign-in information, and achievement progress. Valve also processes technical information needed to operate and secure Steam.
The Epic Games Store version uses Epic Account Services and Epic Online Services only to sign you in and provide achievements. This requires limited processing of an Epic account identifier, sign-in information, and achievement progress. Epic also processes technical information needed to operate and secure its services.
Supported store versions may display the Steam or Epic overlay. Those overlays can show social and client features provided directly by the store. The Game's own systems do not query or store that overlay data.
2. Data handled by the Game
The Game handles only the following data:
- Steam account and service data: when you use the Steam version, the Game accesses a unique Steam account identifier and sign-in status through Steamworks. Authentication credentials are handled by Valve; we do not receive your Steam password. The Game's own systems do not query or store your Steam display name, email address, friends list, or presence information. The Steam overlay may display social and client features provided directly by Steam, such as friends, chat, screenshots, or an overlay browser.
- Epic account and service data: when you use the Epic version, the Game accesses a unique Epic account identifier and sign-in status through Epic Account Services. Authentication credentials are handled by Epic; we do not receive your Epic password. The Game's own systems do not query or store your Epic display name, email address, friends list, or presence information. The Epic overlay may display social features provided directly by Epic.
- Achievement data: on supported store versions, the Game submits and queries achievement identifiers and progress or completion status through the store's online service. In the Steam version, Steam associates this data with your Steam account. In the Epic version, Epic Online Services associates this data with your Epic account so that achievements can work.
- Local data: profiles, settings, saved progress, achievement completion records, and service cache files are stored on your device. We do not automatically receive them. A diagnostic log created on your device may contain an online account identifier or service error information if an online operation fails.
- Support communications: if you contact us, we receive the contact details, message, and any files you choose to send, such as a diagnostic log.
Steamworks may send Valve limited technical information needed to operate and secure Steam, as described in the Steam Privacy Policy. The Epic Online Services SDK may send Epic limited quality-of-service data, such as a randomly generated session identifier, API request counts, latency, and success or error codes. Epic may also process account, device, network, and security information under the Epic Games Privacy Policy. We do not use this information for our own analytics or advertising.
3. Why we process data
We process the limited data above to authenticate players, submit and display achievements, maintain the security and reliability of the Game, respond to support requests, comply with law, and establish or defend legal claims.
Where the GDPR or similar law applies, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you for sign-in and achievement features, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Game and providing support, and compliance with legal obligations when applicable. We do not use personal data for profiling or automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Sharing and international processing
We use Valve Corporation to provide Steamworks and the Steam overlay in the Steam version. Valve processes the account, achievement, overlay, and technical data needed to provide those services. Valve may use service providers and process data outside your country, including in the United States, using the legal safeguards described in its privacy policy.
We use Epic Games and its affiliates to provide Epic Account Services, Epic Online Services, and the Epic overlay in the Epic version. Epic processes the account, achievement, overlay, and technical data needed to provide those services. Epic may use service providers and process data outside your country, including in the United States, using the legal safeguards described in its privacy policy and applicable agreements.
Your store or platform may separately process account, purchase, entitlement, achievement, and overlay information under its own privacy policy. We do not sell personal data, share it with advertisers, or use it for targeted advertising.
5. Retention and deletion
We do not keep a separate server-side copy of account or achievement data. The applicable platform provider retains data within its services according to its policies. Local saves, logs, and cache files remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the Game. Removing local data does not necessarily remove achievements already recorded by a platform provider.
We retain support communications only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, meet legal obligations, and resolve or defend claims. If we receive a valid request to delete Steam or Epic account data in our possession or control, we will delete it promptly unless the law requires retention.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to our processing of your personal data. To exercise a right concerning data held by us, email [email protected]. We may need enough information to identify the relevant data and verify the request.
For Steam account, Steam overlay, or Steam-held achievement data, you may also use Steam's account controls or contact Valve as explained in the Steam Privacy Policy.
For Epic account, Epic overlay, or Epic-held achievement data, you may also use Epic's account controls or contact Epic as explained in the Epic Games Privacy Policy.
If you are in the European Economic Area, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our lead authority is the Polish President of the Personal Data Protection Office; complaint information is available from the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
7. Children
The Game is not primarily directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal data directly to us. Steam and Epic account features, including any age-appropriate account protections, family or parental controls, or parental permissions, are administered by Valve or Epic under their own policies.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy if the Game, our data practices, or legal requirements change. We will change the effective date above and provide any additional notice required by law.
